The Last Competitive Advantage

race

Recent years have produced unprecedented changes to our working world. Never before have so many had so much access to tools and resources to foster creativity and change.

The gatekeepers are fading, and that’s a good thing. Suddenly, you now have access to the world, and vice versa. Your song, your book, your podcast, your app, your widget, whatever. You can make it, share it, post it, ship it, publish it.

Between Google and Youtube alone, there’s nearly nothing that you - or your competitors - can’t learn. Knowledge or know-how isn’t the differentiating factor any more. Those gaps are closing fast.

The last competitive advantage is sheer willpower.

For example, virtually anyone can make a podcast or create a website: there’s no lottery or license or privilege. But not everyone has the willpower to utilize the resources to learn how to do it, and the staying power to see it through.

What about you?

What are you willing to learn and risk?

What’s keeping you from finding and sharing your “voice”?

Who might you become if you tried? [And how might the rest of us grow if you did??]
